Guided Gourmet Tours of the Best Food Regions in France

“Belinda and I are from the Gold Coast in Australia and spent a week with My French Voyages exploring the Dordogne region of France. Francois owns the business and also hosts the tours. Francois now leading and hosting small group tours to various regions in France and his passion for France and regional food and wine is infectious and we had a fabulous time.
Most importantly, it is an early bonding session for participants to ensure everyone is assimilated. A big plus for us as the other 3 couples were friends travelling together.
The house had a large dining / living room which had oodles of space and comfort for a group of 8 where more regional wine was imbibed and the social interaction was terrific.
The whole week is paced very well as we toured around in a comfortable Mercedes Van. The program involves 2 activities a day (regional sights of interest, village markets, a boat cruise, winery visits, farms visits which are responsible for the wonderful Dordogne produce) and a lunch with accompanying wine at restaurants which would be difficult to find without the tour and we had some really memorable lunches. Francois cooks the evening meal and his focus is on highlighting regional produce, in this case Dordogne, cooked simply but with his obvious flair. Each dinner was something to look forward to and we really enjoyed the food and interaction during the preparation.
Belinda and I believe our week with My French Voyages is right up there with the best of our travel experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the program – food, wine, touring and social interaction with the other participants. Francois is a wonderful host. We unhesitatingly recommend the experience to people who are considering it and are already considering doing it again in another French region.”

“Our week with Francois in Provence was possibly our all-time best travel experience!
As lovers of different cultures, food and wine, we were attracted to the My French Voyage concept of exploring a French region as “locals” on a small group gourmet tour hosted by a native Frenchman who was also a Michelin star chef.
My wife and I, along with 3 other couples were greeted by Francois at the Avignon train station and transported in his luxury Mercedes van to a spacious farmhouse which would be our base for the next week.
Every day Francois would pack us into his van and take us on a tour of a different region within Provence. He would use his local knowledge and contacts to arrange private visits to local food and wine related businesses and treat us to lunch at an amazing restaurant that no tourist would ever find.
Our first lunch was an outdoor table setting overlooking picturesque vineyards at a small country restaurant that only the locals knew about. As we sat there enjoying the view, our new friends’ company and the delicious food and wine I thought: “this is just like being in a French movie and exactly what we were hoping for!”
Then, in the evenings back at the farmhouse, Francois would prepare his own exquisite restaurant-quality dinner for us with wine pairing. All using produce and wine that was local to this region. Being an ordinary cook myself it was a real education to observe a world-class chef in action.
Francois valiantly attempted to teach us the French gourmet way of quality over quantity, local produce and only drinking wine with the meal. Good luck with the last one!
Our small group of 4 couples and Francois bonded so well. Our days together were filled with fun and laughter. We still all keep in touch to this day.
